New Vehicles and Dual Batteries
The alternator in your vehicle is much the same as it has always been, with the main job being to charge the battery.
However, to get better fuel economy most manufactures now use a computer to monitor and limit the output charge rate when deemed necessary.
This becomes problematic if you want to charge an auxiliary battery or run accessories directly from the main battery.

Poor Quality Fuse Holders
At Driven Auto Electrics we often see inferior and cheap quality parts used for accessory installing. Unfortunately most customers wouldn’t know there was a problem until it’s too late, usually that’s at the worst of times.
These types of fuse holders are manufactured from many different companies, so the quality does vary. Because they are pre-insulated there is no way of inspecting the connections
Our rule of thumb, unless the circuit being protected is for a low current draw device (10 amp maximum), don’t use this style of fuse holder at all.

LED Lights
Do you tow a trailer with LED lights?
If you own a late model European vehicle you may need to have a module fitted to ensure the vehicle operates as intended. Engine performance, steering and stability, ABS, ESC, blind spot detection, reverse sensors and many more vehicle operations may not be operating correctly if the vehicle doesn’t recognise a trailer is connected.
